1. INTRODUCTION TO THE CODE
The Greenhill Academy student is responsible, community-minded, respectful and smart. Greenhill seeks to improve the working attitudes and good manners of its children, and to train them in the virtues of hard work and personal honesty.
The main concern of the School is the welfare, broad exposure and good progress of every child. Aside from high academic standards, students are expected to participate in sports, Clubs, House activities and other School events.
Much of the Code is common sense, concerning interpersonal relations, working environment, School image, health and safety. Each child has the right to dignity and respect. No child has the right to interfere with the learning of another child in the School.
Conflict can arise in the School community from diverse viewpoints, expectations, cultures and experiences. Greenhill is a place of learning, where understanding one another and managing conflict are important components of growing up.
Parents are expected to reinforce the Code to their children and to work in partnership with teachers. Where possible, they can assist with homework, ensure cleanliness, respect and honesty, and encourage good manners, for example saying; please or thank you or I am sorry.
