At
Greenhill academy, exam success is important; in addition emphasis
is placed on preparing your child for thier future. The academic
curriculum at the school makes up just one part of the educational
development of the pupils.
The
range of subjects available to pupils is extensive, combining
traditional subjects and more modern studies, such as Swahili
computer studies. All the pupils are pushed and encouraged, so
that no matter what their academic level, even those who might
not achieve as much in other places are surprised by their own
success. Expectations are high.
As
pupils progress up the school, the range of subjects available
actually broadens, allowing specialization in certain areas and
opportunities to combine science, humanities and the arts. By
keeping class sizes small, a great deal of individual attention
is given to each pupil. We are able to accommodate a wide range
of abilities and give help and assistance wherever it is needed.
Computers play a very important role in education. The pupils
are taught to use them properly and encouraged to use them as
aids to learning.
Children
at Greenhill Academy are given encouragement to develop their
interests and acquire the skills necessary to analyse and explore
the physical and cultural world around them. Through innovative,
interactive teaching, pupils develop a love of a subject and an
ability to see its relevance within their own lives.
