Greenhill Academy Pupil Heads to the United Kingdom to Represent Uganda

Greenhill Academy proudly celebrates Israel Ssinza, a Primary Five (P.5) Blue pupil, who has been selected to represent Uganda at the prestigious TEEN EAGLE Debating and Public Speaking Competition. The international competition will take place at Brunel University, London, United Kingdom, from 9th to 10th August 2026.

Israel's journey is a testament to hard work, discipline, and the strong foundation he has received through the Greenhill Academy Debating and Public Speaking Club. Over the years, he has consistently represented the school in inter-school debating and public speaking competitions, earning medals and recognition for his exceptional communication and critical thinking skills.

Earlier this year, Israel participated in the Owlypia Globals Debating and Public Speaking Competition held at Aga Khan School in Kampala, where he competed against pupils from several primary schools across the country. His outstanding performance earned him a Bronze Medal and 3rd place in the local qualifying rounds, securing his place on the international stage. He is the only pupil from Greenhill Academy to qualify for this global competition.

Before his departure, the Head of School, Mr. Ekiri Whalice, officially flagged off Israel and encouraged him to compete with confidence, courage, and determination. He urged him to represent Uganda with pride and without fear, reminding him that he carries with him the hopes of his school and country.

As Israel prepares to compete alongside participants from Uganda and many other countries around the world, the entire Greenhill Academy community wishes him every success.
